A new form of space tourism has been announced!
Startup company SPACE PERSPECTIVE has announced plans for a “stratospheric travel” experience using a high-performance balloon and pressurized capsule named “Spaceship Neptune”.

Spaceship Neptune can carry up to 8 passengers, excluding the pilot, and has a flight time of approximately 6 hours. After a 2-hour ascent to an altitude of 100,000 feet above ground level, passengers can fly over the Earth for up to 2 hours. The target altitude is approximately three times higher than the cruising altitude of long-distance international flights, which is roughly 33,000 feet.
Inside the pressurized capsule, passengers don’t need to wear spacesuits and can spend their time in casual clothes. The capsule is equipped with a snack bar and washroom facilities. SPACE PERSPECTIVE also encourages passengers to bring cameras and smartphones to capture and share their experiences on social media.
The 6-hour trip will include approximately 2 hours of stratospheric flight, followed by a 2-hour descent back to the Earth, where the capsule will land on the ocean surface. Passengers will then be transported back to port by boat.
